Switzerland to host the World Tunnel Congress in 2013
The Swiss Tunnelling Society (STS), the Swiss section of the International Tunnelling and Underground Space Association (ITA), has scored a major success: the General Assembly approved Switzerland's candidacy to host the World Tunnel Congress in 2013. Tunnelling specialists from all over the world will gather in Geneva from 10 to 17 May 2013.
The WTC – a major international forum
The World Tunnel Congress (WTC) is the most important event of the year for tunnelling experts throughout the world. For one whole week, experts from the 58 member nations discuss the latest findings and developments in all areas of tunnel construction. This was the first time that the Swiss Tunnelling Society (STS) was a candidate to host the WTC, and it was immediately selected as organiser of the 2013 event. Basler & Hofmann is one of the partners on the candidacy committee, which mounted a highly professional and convincing campaign.
