Repair of Adler tunnel

Project overview

Deformation and large cracks have appeared in certain sections of the inner lining in the Adler tunnel of the SBB Basel‒Olten line since its completion due to high swelling pressure. The tunnel was reinforced in the abutment area and a new inner lining constructed, with a new structural concept aimed at absorbing the swelling pressure. Single-track operation could be maintained throughout the work.
