Large-scale rail projects have been part of Peter Rüedlinger's professional career since he joined Basler & Hofmann in 1982. The Zurich S-Bahn traffic was the first large-scale project where he handled the project management for a construction lot. Later, he was General Manager, Railway Engineering on the Zimmerberg Base Tunnel between Zurich and Thalwil, as well as the new section from Mattstetten to Rothrist – Switzerland's first high-speed line. In parallel to this, he built up the Railway Construction Department, which he headed for 15 years. He is pleased to pass on his considerable experience in the management of complex railway engineering projects to younger engineers.
