Beat Hodel

For many years now, Beat Hodel has been supervising complex infrastructure projects in his role as an environmental expert, devising solutions aimed at ensuring that environmental concerns are taken into account in all phases of planning and implementation. After studying Biology, he gained a doctorate in Toxicology from the Institute of Toxicology at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), and has worked at Basler & Hofmann since 1990, where he currently occupies the role of leading expert. The highlights of his professional career so far have included environmental mandates for the tourist resort in Andermatt and the spectacular Tamina bridge in Pfäfers, canton of St. Gallen. He found the implementation of the Zurich cross-city link particularly challenging, as the new underground railway station and the tunnel needed to be constructed under highly complex groundwater conditions.
