Anne-Lene Mage

Anne-Lene Mage acquired her extensive knowledge in the field of land use planning when she studied Urban and Regional Planning at Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus–Senftenberg in Germany, during the course of which she also spent a year at Wrocław University of Science and Technology in Poland. After her studies, Anne-Lene Mage packed her bags and moved to Switzerland to join Basler & Hofmann. The German has been very impressed with Switzerland and the family-owned company. Today, she advises customers in the public sector in her role as project manager on wide-ranging land use planning and legal issues relating to construction – whether for local planning revisions for municipalities, cantonal design plans for gravel pits, or special utilisation planning for private-sector customers.

What is different about working at Basler & Hofmann?

Normally, land use planning projects end with the approval of the design plan or the special utilisation plan. But I experience this differently at Basler & Hofmann, where work continues to be carried out in-house by colleagues on some of the projects in the remaining planning and construction phases. Since we work very closely with each other, I get to find out what has been done with my design plan, and people ask me for my expertise as well. I really appreciate this feedback about my work.

What do you find makes a project particularly enjoyable?

If we are able to open up the box of ideas and potential solutions wide open at the beginning, before we then use detailed analyses to jointly compare the individual ideas and then, ultimately, work out the optimum solution for our customers.
