Project Manager
Olaf Binieck has had a truly fascinating career thus far: In the former GDR he trained to be a sailor on inland shipping vessels. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, he worked for Deutsche Bahn for three years as a railway yard manager before training to become a project manager in claims management specialising in pollutants alongside his job. Olaf Binieck has worked as a project manager for pollution remediation at companies in Switzerland since 2014. In 2016 he joined Basler & Hofmann. As a building contaminants project manager, he has a wealth of experience in the evaluation of building contaminants and supervising the environmental remediation of contaminants such as asbestos. He has also carried out a number of contaminant evaluations for motorway sections.
I like projects that require me to carry out a lot of field work and really get my hands dirty. I like going on location to get an idea of the situation, carrying out analyses and inspections, and finding out the latest information about how the contaminants that we are aware of today are processed and where they occur.
Archaeologist. I’ve been fascinated by archaeology since I was a child. It must be so exciting to travel to all these different places, searching for ancient relics and then to carefully excavate and study them.
