Basler & Hofmann is a member of the new FIDIC Digital Transformation Committee

At the beginning of April, the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC) launched a new Digital Transformation Committee. Basler & Hofmann is represented on the twelve-member committee by Gianluca Genova, Head of the Laboratory for Integral Work (IDA Lab).

The new committee aims to promote the use of existing and emerging digital technologies in the field of consulting engineering firms. The committee's strategic priorities include the creation and publication of guidelines for digital platforms used by consulting engineering firms globally, as well as the further development of FIDIC's standard forms of contract for use in international construction contracts.

"We are delighted to be able to bring our expertise and experience in integral digital design and construction to FIDIC. I am convinced that we can learn a lot from each other in the global exchange. If we want to work together successfully on an international digital level in the future, it is also imperative that we coordinate across national borders," says Gianluca Genova, Head of Basler & Hofmann's IDA Lab. Basler & Hofmann has already been involved in FIDIC several times in the company's history. From 1993 to 1995, Ernst Hofmann, one of the founders of Basler & Hofmann, was even president of the international association.
