Lausanne railway station: where people flows dictate the layout

Project overview

Lausanne railway station is to be expanded in order to double its passenger capacity and ensure safe operation. Studies of people flows in the overall environment of the railway station result in the chosen layout with wider and longer platforms, three generous lateral arcades, one longitudinal arcade and a large distribution area below Bahnhofplatz.
