Flood protection: Uri valley floor

Project overview

The floods in August 2005 caused between CHF 300 and 500 million worth of damage to the Uri valley floor. As part of a flood protection project, measures were devised along the rivers Schächen, Stille Reuss and Reuss with the protection target of a 100-year flood and, in the sensitive area of the valley floor (industrial areas), even a 300-year flood.
