Review of earthquake performance of federal buildings abroad

Project overview

The Federal Office for Buildings and Logistics (FOBL) commissioned an assessment of the earthquake performance of foreign properties that are owned by the Swiss Confederation and are located in regions with high or very high earthquake risk. This also includes embassy buildings in Pakistan, Indonesia, Uzbekistan and Nepal, which were inspected by Basler & Hofmann.

Our services

Performance of building surveys abroad and analysis of support structures, assessment of earthquake performance using state-of-the-art deformation- and strength-based calculation methods, evaluation of the necessity of measures, definition of conception of measures including rough cost estimate, definition of preliminary projects regarding earthquake retrofitting.
