Bernhard Stamm is pleased that the issue of sustainable construction is getting more and more attention. The expert in structural physics, acoustics and sustainable construction appreciates the possibilities that new materials and technologies provide. After studying civil engineering at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and gaining two years of professional experience in Mannheim, Bernhard Stamm packed his bags and moved to Switzerland for his doctorate at the Laboratory for Timber Constructions IBOIS at EPF Lausanne. Upon successful completion, he put his theoretical knowledge into practice: before joining Basler & Hofmann as project manager in January 2021, he worked for renowned engineering firms in French-speaking Switzerland for many years. In addition, he taught at EPF Lausanne in the Master’s programme for sustainable construction.

What is different about working at Basler & Hofmann?

Basler & Hofmann stands out for its broad range of expertise and innovative drive. They have specialists for almost all engineering services related to buildings and infrastructures.

What do you find makes a project particularly enjoyable?

As an engineer and generalist, I like projects that go beyond what is considered standard. I enjoy thinking outside the box when it comes to developing forward-looking solutions in collaboration with others.
