Elena Odermatt
Specialist for traffic, mobility and spaces

Born in Italy, Elena Odermatt studied Environmental Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Milan. Directly after completing her studies, she worked on climate change and water management research projects at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich and the University of Western Australia (UWA) in Perth. She then started out her career as a transportation planning expert – first as a research assistant at the Institute for Transport Planning and Systems of ETH Zurich and later as a project engineer at different Swiss engineering firms. Elena Odermatt joined Basler & Hofmann in 2014 as a consultant for transportation models and traffic flow simulations. Today, as a specialist responsible for transport, mobility and spaces, she uses her wealth of experience in transport planning with a focus on traffic flow simulations and pedestrian flow studies in the railway station environment.
The versatility. Sometimes a project is more of a one-woman show, sometimes it takes two-thirds of the entire company from every team and every department in order to find the optimal solution.
I really appreciate that Basler & Hofmann is a family-owned company that values both tradition and innovation. In terms of my day-to-day work, I love the team spirit and the open, easy-going relationships between employees and superiors.
