Ephrème Jobin

After graduating from EPF Lausanne, Ephrème Jobin worked in several architectural and engineering offices to familiarise himself with various areas of civil engineering, from construction management to structural design for new buildings and conversions to traffic planning. In the course of further training, Ephrème has acquired in-depth knowledge in the fields of building renovation and Minergie. Since 2020, Ephrème has been strengthening the team of Basler & Hofmann’s Lake Geneva market division as a project manager. In his role, he is heavily involved in the expansion of railway stations and in various building construction projects in western Switzerland.

What fascinates you about your work?

The diversity and the social benefits: in just one working day, I might work on the structural design for the addition of a storey to a building, check the pillar of a metro station and validate the necessary openings for the technical installations of a passive house.

What other profession could you imagine yourself in – and why?

Hut warden. I also imagine this profession to be very varied and meaningful. It enables people to rest and offers them protection. The variety comes from the landscape and the different motivations of the visitors.
