Lukas Rüdin has been with the Geomatics department since 2009. Following his apprenticeship as a surveying draughtsman, he studied Geomatics Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland FHNW, and joined Basler & Hofmann immediately afterwards. Today, he can look back on a series of spectacular surveying projects in which he was the project manager, including the Prime Tower, Zurich’s tallest building, the Gotthard Base Tunnel and the Zurich cross-city link. Lukas Rüdin manages challenging projects in structural and civil engineering, as well as in industrial and tunnel surveying. Since 2024, he is Direcotr of Geomatics at Basler & Hofmann.
What is different about working at Basler & Hofmann?
The fact that I can work on large-scale projects and expand my knowledge. In addition to this, there’s always someone available internally to answer my questions.
What other profession could you imagine yourself in – and why?
Teacher. I enjoy passing on my knowledge and am a communicative person.
