Michael Altherr has specialised in renewable-energy projects. His particular focus is on wind power. He is intimately familiar with potential and feasibility analyses, the technical planning of wind parks and the necessary areas of expertise. This project engineer working in renewable energies studied Geography at the University of Zurich before going on to qualify as an environmental engineer with a postgraduate combined degree at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland. His most recent role was as a project manager at New Energy Scout, which merged with Basler & Hofmann in autumn 2020. Nature plays a central role in Michael Altherr's personal life as well as his professional life: in his leisure time, he volunteers for the Naturschutzsozial association, which combines practical nature conservation with the needs of society.

What fascinates you about your work?

I am motivated by the fact that my work allows me to contribute to promoting renewable energies and thereby protect our natural environment.

What is different about working at Basler & Hofmann?

I like that we are actively encouraged to think outside the box. I appreciate the fact that I can have straightforward discussions with experts in other fields whenever I choose.
