Rajah Marbach

BSc HSLU/FHZ Building Services

Project Engineer

Rajah Marbach really has seen building services from every angle. Before embarking on a degree in Building Services at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (specialising in HVAS), she worked in the building services and energy department of the city of Lucerne, where she learned about buildings from a client’s perspective. Her role at the city of Lucerne was followed by an internship at an engineering firm, where Rajah Marbach got her first taste of planning. Prior to joining Basler & Hofmann in 2019, she worked as a junior project manager for a building services company, where she gained a deep knowledge of how building systems are installed, as well as significant on-site experience. Her specialist expertise includes using building information modelling (BMI) to plan ventilation systems, energy monitoring, and how to optimise processes to make them as energy-efficient as possible.

What fascinates you about your work?

I enjoy working in a team to develop new systems, but I love optimising existing systems even more. It really is all about making them as good as new.

What do you find makes a project particularly enjoyable?

On large projects, we often work across multiple disciplines. It gives me great satisfaction when we manage to work effectively in those interdisciplinary teams, even when things get really busy, and use our combined knowledge to find the perfect solution for the client.
