Seismic design

For more than 50 years, we have been working for private clients, architects and public institutions on the earthquake-resistant design of buildings and infrastructures. If there is a safety and security deficit in the structures or secondary components, we develop proportionate solutions for retrofitting tailored to the individual building.

Experienced in the design of lean strengthening measures

Having started out as pioneers, we are now recognized specialists in the seismic design and structural safety of structures. We advise property owners, developers and architects strategically on how to deal with the existing risk in order to achieve a proportionate earthquake-resistant design. For new construction projects, we work with the architects to develop a structure that also meets earthquake-resistant requirements. If you are planning the redevelopment or conversion of an existing building, we will check the structure for you and design proportionate strengthening measures that take into account your needs in terms of use and, if necessary, the requirements of monument preservation. Thanks to our involvement in specialist committees and in the development of guidelines and directives, we can always advise you on the latest state of the art. As test engineers, we are also active in the field of earthquake-resistant and structural safety of nuclear power plants.
