Maria Fink

Mag. Dr. rer. nat.
Biosafety Expert, Lead Auditor ISO 35001:2019

The doctoral molecular biologist's interest in biosafety was sparked during her work at the Austrian Reference Laboratory for Animal Diseases. At the same employer, she gained extensive experience as a biosafety officer (BSO) in the planning and commissioning of the Austrian high-security laboratory for animal diseases. After more than ten years in this role, Maria Fink moved to an international pharmaceutical company involved in vaccine production, where she worked as a biosafety expert for several years. Since spring 2023, she has been using her expertise at Basler & Hofmann to advise building owners, laboratory operators and specialist planners. She is a member of the European Biosafety Association (EBSA), where she also works as an instructor in the working group for education and training. In addition, she is a member of the Swiss Biosafety Network and the International Veterinary Biosafety Workgroup.

What fascinates you about your work?

The fact that every customer has their own needs that require reliable, practical and innovative solutions. And that biosafety interfaces with many other specialist disciplines.

What makes working at Basler & Hofmann special?

Based on your own technical expertise, you have a great deal of scope for creativity here. I also appreciate the holistic approach to projects and the love of getting things done that is cultivated here. The teams work constructively and with mutual appreciation within a flat company hierarchy.
