Gubrist Tunnel: Construction management services and superstructure management
The busy northern bypass around Zurich has already been relieved by the addition of a third tube to the Gubrist Tunnel. In addition, the two existing tubes are being repaired. The aim is to increase capacity and safety. Basler & Hofmann is providing construction management services in these projects.

With over 120,000 vehicles a day, the Zurich northern bypass is one of the busiest routes in Switzerland. Regular traffic jams and accidents are the result. The expansion of the Gubrist Tunnel to include a third tube and the complete renewal of the existing tubes, along with other measures, are intended to remedy the situation. Basler & Hofmann was commissioned to provide construction management services (BHU) for the new tube (in operation since April 2023) and is now also overseeing the repair of the existing tubes. We are supporting FEDRO in managing costs, deadlines and quality as well as in procurement and coordinating the numerous parties involved.
