Contract for the renewal of the German Federal Motorway 9

Basler & Hofmann has been awarded the contract for the fundamental roadway renewal of two sections of the A9 motorway. The roadway has to be renewed over a total of 29 kilometres. The cross-border project team beat off the competition in a Europe-wide invitation to tender in a multi-stage procedure.

The Federal Motorway (BAB) 9, which connects the megacities of Berlin and Munich, has reached the end of its service life and must be thoroughly renewed. At the beginning of the year, the Saxony-Anhalt state road authority awarded the bidding consortium Basler & Hofmann the contract for the renovation of two lots - the 20-kilometre section between the Schkeuditz junction and the Halle junction (Berlin directional roadway) and the nine-kilometre section between the Weissenfels junction and the Naumburg junction (Munich directional roadway).

The projects are of particular importance to Basler & Hofmann: we will continue to expand our cross-border cooperation here as part of the High Performance Roads Competence Centre. Basler & Hofmann Germany is leading the cross-border project team consisting of road and traffic planners from Basler & Hofmann Germany, Basler & Hofmann in Switzerland and the South Tyrolean engineering consortium Pardeller, which also belongs to the group.
