Basler & Hofmann hosts Europengineers

At the beginning of November, the members of Europengineers met at Basler & Hofmann in Zurich for their annual senior management exchange. Europengineers is a forum that aims to promote networking and the open exchange of knowledge between Europe’s leading engineering companies.

This exchange at senior management level focused on topics relevant to the member companies now and in the coming years, from hybrid work to digitalisation to the circular economy. “We set great store by this friendly exchange with the other members. It’s always inspiring to see how companies working in the same sector in other countries are tackling the pressing challenges of our time,” says Dominik Courtin, CEO of Basler & Hofmann.

As host, in the framework programme, Basler & Hofmann focused on digitalisation in the planning and building industry. On Monday, 1 November 2021, the members were taken on a tour of Basler & Hofmann’s business premises in Esslingen, which included the Future Tree outdoor pavilion and the acoustic walls, two pilot projects for parametric planning. The following day, the guests were given an insight into ETH Zurich’s Design++ initiative, which Basler & Hofmann is supporting as a strategic partner. In the Immersive Design Lab and the world’s largest architectural robotics laboratory the guests discussed how new digital technologies can improve the quality and sustainability of buildings and create a more efficient planning process.
