Zurich Cross-City Link honoured again

The Zurich Cross-City Link was twice a winner at the Building Awards 2015 in Lucerne. The "Löwenstrasse Station" project was selected as the overall winner, as well as taking first prize in the "Foundation, civil and infrastructure engineering" category.

The Building Awards are given for outstanding engineering services. The prizes were awarded for the first time on 18 June at the KKL [Culture & Congress Centre, Lucerne]. With Löwenstrasse Station, which lies at the heart of the Zurich Cross-City Link, the ZALO engineering consortium (comprising Basler & Hofmann and Pöyry Switzerland Ltd) has created a structure of the century. Completing a complex building project of this type within cost and on time is a masterpiece of the art of the engineer. The "Zurich CCL/Löwenstrasse station" project was therefore honoured with two prizes at the KKL. Peter Kübler of Basler & Hofmann and Martin Bachmann of Pöyry Switzerland Ltd were therefore able to accept both the "Overall winner" prize and first prize in the "Foundation, civil and infrastructure engineering" category.
