Project overview
Swiss Federal Railways owns a large number of properties and infrastructure buildings and installations. These various structures have differing requirements in terms of earthquake performance that must be put in place and implemented. With the support of Basler & Hofmann, SBB has devised strategies for earthquake prevention and working aids for implementing these strategies in its Real Estate and Infrastructure areas.

Definition of risk-based strategies for earthquake prevention for both existing properties and railway infrastructure and for new structures: identification of relevant structures and installations, classification of buildings and traffic routes according to importance, highlighting any necessary changes in construction projects, proposal for prioritisation and for approach to existing properties, development of implementation support and guidelines.
