Fire safety at Kongresshaus / Tonhalle Zürich with smoke and evacuation process simulation
Project overview
The building complex with the Zurich concert hall and congress building needs to be renovated. The interlinked buildings are listed as buildings of historic interest and are of national importance. As part of the renovation, the building complex will need to be remodelled in accordance with current fire safety regulations. The extensive fire safety measures that are required must also take into account considerations relating to the protection of historic monuments and the requirements of the operating organisation and the owners, and they must also be politically workable. With the aid of verification processes (proof of smoke extraction / proof of the evacuation process) it was possible to prove that the defined protection targets will be met.
