Licence renewal for Dietikon run-of-the-river power plant

The water rights licence for the Dietikon hydropower plant on the river Limmat, which was built between 1931 and 1933, is due to expire. As owner of the site, Elektrizitätswerke des Kantons Zürich (EKZ) is therefore applying for a licence renewal for a further 80 years of operation. A two-stage environmental impact assessment is required by law to be carried out for the licensing of hydropower plants.
