N08.52 Spiez – Interlaken West maintenance project
Project overview
The overhaul of the 15-kilometre section of the N08 motorway includes the track with slow traffic management in places and a cantonal road character, two tunnels, 64 engineering structures and 70 retaining walls. The location is particularly challenging: part of the road is situated directly between Lake Thun, the railway line and the rock face; there is therefore limited space available in which to work.

As the lead company in an engineering consortium for the maintenance concept - incl. condition assessment and the programme of measures – Basler & Hofmann was responsible for the overall management as well as for costs and scheduling. Project management and administration in all areas. Project planning and realisation of preliminary measures for two bridge structures due to structural deficits.
