Potable water supply in Tanzania

Project overview

Potable water supply and wastewater disposal were improved in the towns of Dodoma and Tabora in Tanzania in a project by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO. The aim of the project was to improve potable water quality and increase the capacity of the infrastructure. As the leading syndicate member, Basler & Hofmann established contact with the local authorities and devised concepts in which requirements and the need for action in the two towns were analysed. For the overall project, water pipelines were laid, potable water lines replaced as well as water meters and drain shafts and new chlorination facilities built. Existing pumping stations were modified and expanded.
