Safnern bridge over the Nidau–Büren canal

Project overview

On the basis of an option study carried out, the existing bridge was replaced with a three-span steel composite structure with span widths of 23, 42 and 25 metres. The river piers were dimensioned in such a way that they could withstand the potential impact of a ship in the unique event that this were to happen.
