SBB Zimmerberg base tunnel: general planner for railway technology

Project overview

The main structure of the Zimmerberg base tunnel between Zurich and Thalwil is the 9.4-kilometre-long double-track tunnel. A general planner was brought in for the planning of railway technology. All elements of railway technology were planned and coordinated, with one of the main tasks involving the planning of all track components with slab track, points and mass-spring systems.
