Temporary switch bridge: Zurich–Altstetten railway station

Project overview

Various temporary installations are necessary to maintain rail operations during the dismantling and rebuilding of the existing underpass. In addition to the SBB’s temporary bridges, a temporary switch bridge designed specifically for this construction site is also being used to form a bridge across the rail platforms. The roughly 65 tonnes (mass) steel support structure will be installed/removed during a weekend closure.

Processing the preliminary and the construction project including developing the verifiable static calculations and revision with the test engineer/Swiss Federal Office of Transport (FOT). Invitation to tender and execution project for the temporary switch bridge in the course of the overall project. Factory inspection of the steel construction and on-site construction management.
