The highest wind power plant in Europe in Gries

Project overview

After a period of preparation and planning, the highest wind power plant in Europe was constructed in 2011 at a height of 2,450 metres above sea level near the Gries dam in the Alps. The alpine location posed a variety of challenges compared to the plains, such as difficult logistics with limited space and narrow access, the very short season for construction work and adverse climatic events.
