Anna Eve Somieski

Dr. sc. ETH, Dipl.-Ing. Geodesy
Team Leader Digital Solutions and BIM

Anna Somieski brings with her in-depth expertise in geomatics, digital processes and BIM management. After graduating in geodesy from TU Dresden, she completed her doctorate in geomatics at ETH Zurich. She then spent over ten years at a Swiss company, where she acquired international projects for airborne geodata acquisition. She then worked for a consulting firm specialising in BIM and data management. She has been contributing her expertise to Basler & Hofmann since 2024, first as a project manager and now as team leader for digital solutions and BIM. Her areas of expertise include the definition and implementation of information requirements for BIM, collaborative platforms, the design of digital interfaces and processes, and data management. Anna's goal is to design digital processes in such a way that they measurably increase efficiency and quality in infrastructure and building construction projects.

What fascinates you about your work?

BIM is a method that still offers a lot of potential for optimisation. I am fascinated by the combination of innovation, digitalisation, diverse use cases and collaboration in different projects.

When do you particularly enjoy a project?

When a process has been thought through and optimised in advance, is applied in a project and leads to increased efficiency.
